Who we are

Embrace Whole Health is a functional nutrition practice built on one simple idea: you deserve to be heard.

If you’ve felt dismissed, overlooked, or misunderstood, you’re in the right place.

We look at the whole person, because your body is interconnected, to find the root cause instead of chasing symptoms. That might mean food as medicine, herbs, targeted supplements, or functional lab testing with data-driven insights. Whatever it looks like, your plan is built for you and changes as your life changes. This is about long-term success, not band-aids.

We work with you, not at you. You’re in the driver’s seat, and we’re here to help you navigate.

Who we work with

Our favorite people? The “unicorns and zebras”: the ones whose labs look normal but who still don’t feel right, or who’ve been told it’s “just anxiety.”

We support gut health, hormones and PCOS, fertility, concussion recovery, POTS and autonomic dysfunction, autoimmune conditions, weight concerns (gain or loss), eating disorders and disordered eating, mental health, and women’s and men’s health. We’ve worked with everyone from NFL players and Division 1 athletes to high schoolers and teens.

We’re especially passionate about helping teens balance their hormones, because too often they’re put on birth control instead of anyone looking for the root cause.

Meet our founder, Cassandra Pedersen, RD

Cassandra specializes in functional nutrition, and she’s been in private practice since 2017. Before she was ever a dietitian, she was the patient nobody could figure out. In her words:

“By junior high, I was in an eating disorder I hid from everyone. In 9th grade I got a concussion. It took THREE years for anyone to realize it was behind all my symptoms and to get me the treatment I needed to resolve them. I was told it was anxiety, put on medications that made it worse, and passed from specialist to specialist. In college I started having full-on syncope episodes and other symptoms, and it took a long time to learn I have POTS and neurocardiogenic syncope.

Over the years the list kept growing, and these are just some of the highlights: Hashimoto’s, MCAS, EDS, PMDD, celiac disease, insulin resistance, more concussions, and infertility. Then came a copper IUD that I turned out to be allergic to. It gave me copper poisoning and nearly shut my body down. Later came burnout from a toxic job that left my body stuck in fight-or-flight until it simply couldn’t anymore. I’ve been on more medications and supplements than you would believe. I’ve done the programs, the restrictive diets, and kept the ‘someday’ clothes in the closet. I’ve been dismissed, told I was overreacting, and told my labs looked normal.

My gut was part of it too. I was constantly bloated and never comfortable, the clothes I put on in the morning didn’t fit by the afternoon, my skin broke out for no reason, and I’d feel really sad without knowing why. I thought those were all separate problems until I learned they were connected.

What changed everything was never a magic pill. It was deciding to become my own first client. I researched, tested, and treated what I could. I turned my symptoms around, recovered from my eating disorder, and balanced my hormones until I went from being told I was infertile to fertile.

Then I advocated for myself. I went looking for the providers who would actually listen, and I found them: a vision therapist who described my symptoms before I said a word, and a doctor who finally believed me. I cried both times. I still live with some of these conditions, but now I understand what’s going on, what to do, and how to feel my best.

That’s why I left pharmacy school. I wanted to really know my patients, walk with them through the whole journey, and be the person I didn’t have.”

That’s the heart of Embrace Whole Health. If we can’t find the answer ourselves, we’ll help you find who can, and make sure you walk in with the right questions.

Beyond the office

Cassandra loves baking and cooking, and has a soft spot for anyone with a long list of food restrictions. She went from eating anything to lactose intolerance, then gluten-free for celiac disease, then no dairy at all, plus a few more. Now she bakes and cooks gluten- and dairy-free food so good that people don’t even notice. Restrictions don’t have to mean missing out.

The rest of the time, you’ll find her outdoors. She grew up on dance, gymnastics, volleyball, and running. These days, volleyball, working out, paddleboarding, hiking, and biking have her heart, along with the cabin, bonfires, the boat, and hikes to waterfalls. Fall is her season: changing leaves, crisp mornings with the windows open, something baking in the oven, and football on Sundays.

Her motto for herself these past five years? Building a life worth living. Because nourishment is about more than food. It’s about the life you’re building.

Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone. We will NOT give up on you, and we’ll be there every step of the way.

We only take clients we know we can truly help, and spots are limited. If you’re ready to finally get answers, we’d love to meet you.
